ANC's NEC sits in an extended meeting ahead of the election manifesto launch

The ANC's National Executive Committee is currently sitting in an extended meeting ahead of the January 8th statement and the official launch of the party's election manifesto for the 2019 provincial and national elections. The event will be taking place at the Moses Mabida Stadium on the 12 of January.

The African National Congress (ANC) is today set to announce the names of more than 200 representatives to send to Parliament after the 2019 general elections.

The party's National Executive Committee (NEC) is currently holding its national list conference in Durban to decide who it will send to Parliament and the various legislatures following the elections.

The complexities of hosting the January 8th statement in KwaZulu Natal - a home province of the president that has been removed from the big seat and a president that will not keep quiet. The choice was made, and the idea was to quell the discontent that is prevailing out there, but it doe not look like they are about to win that one.

The interesting point is that, former head of state Jacob Zuma is so active in the activities of the ANC which is a bit unusual for a former president. But that being said, I don't find anything wrong, neither anything that says, thou shall not do that.

President Cyril Ramaphosa and other key ANC national executive committee (NEC) members are attending this weekend's conference in Durban. Former president Jacob Zuma is also in Durban.
