[LISTEN] Gen. Jeremy Vearey insists journo used to instigate smear campaign

Vearey is one of those being targeted by the alleged smear campaign and he says journalists were used in propelling this.

He claims that a TimesLive journalist, whose name he would not disclose, was roped in to write discrediting articles that tarnished their names.

According to Vearey this is the kind of methodology that was used to discredit Major General Johan Booysen, General Anwa Dramat and Ivan Pillay.

They peddle a lot of rumours out in the public domain, generate a need for an investigation and people get moved out of circulation while that happens and they use certain media to do that.

The journalist in question is someone who identified himself as working for the TimeLive, Sunday Times in particular.
