Glynnis Breytenbach testifies neither Jiba nor Mrwebi fit for office
Former state prosecutor Glynnis Breytenbach is giving testimony at the Mokgoro Commission of Inquiry.
The inquiry is looking into advocates Nomgcobo Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi's fitness to hold office.
EWN reporter Barry Bateman, who is following the commission, says Breytenbach has testified that neither Jiba nor Mrwebi is fit to hold office.
She is taking us back to 2010 when she was the regional head of the Commercial Crimes Unit and a lot of the cases that she was dealing with in her office was that involving the former head of crime intelligence Richard Mdluli.Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
At one point she remembers that Nomgcobo Jiba came into her office and said she has been appointed as the Director of National Prosecutions. Then Breytenbach says no post was advertised and Jiba told her a decision had been made.Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
Bateman reports that Breytenbach said within a year of Jiba's appointment to her office, Jiba was elevated to the position of deputy national director and this was unheard of as Jiba didn't have any experience.
