[LISTEN] SA expat living in Chicago describes the big freeze

Genevieve Jones, a CapeTalk listener and SA expat in Chicago chats to Sara-Jayne King about the extreme cold they are experiencing.

She says it has been freezing cold, with a snowstorm with -30 degrees Celcius.

She says schools have been closed for two days, for the first time in that school district in Chicago.

The hospital has only been open for frostbite victims and high emergencies.

I had to cancel anyone coming to my house because being outside for more than 10 minutes exposes skin to frostbite.
