Bridge collapses in Vanderbijlpark, resulting in 3 fatalities

This story has been updated.

There are reports of a structural bridge collapse at a high school in Vanderbijlpark.

According to Netcare 911, multiple people sustained injuries when a bridge collapsed and it is believed to have trapped people in the process.

It is believed that at least five people are in critical condition and three people are deceased. 21 pupils have been taken to different hospitals.

Emergency services are at the scene.

Gauteng MEC of Education has rushed to the scene.
