CRL Commission says Bushiri church was not responsible for deadly stampede

The CRL Commission has released its findings on the circumstances that led to the deaths of three women in pastor Shepherd Bushiri's church in December.

The women were trying to find shelter during a thunderstorm at the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church in Pretoria.

17 people were also injured before a church service while seeking shelter.

EWN reporter Robinson Nqola who is following the story, says the commission has found that the church run by the controversial pastor was not responsible for the stampede.

The CRL Commission chairperson Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva issued the report and said that they found that the church had complied with safety regulations. They made an application and everything was above board and they were issued a compliance certificate.
