SACP raises concern over alleged VBS killings

The South African Communist Party has called on authorities and Police Minister Bheki Cele to act against a series of killings they believe are linked to the VBS Bank scandal.

Second Deputy Secretary General at SACP Solly Mapaila says three people have died in what appears to be targeted hits against people who have spoken against corruption, mostly in the Vhembe district.

Mapaila says there have also been attacks on those who spoke out on the VBS scandal.

All those people that have been at the forefront of fighting against corruption and particularly against the VBS scandal, are the ones who are being targeted. At the moment the focus has been on the Vhembe district in Limpopo.
