Unpaid doctors in Gauteng advised to stage no show until salaries received

The South African Medical Association (SAMA) has told doctors and other healthcare professionals who are yet to receive their January salaries not to report for duty until they have been paid.

Dr Eddie Ngwenya, a member of the SAMA board, says those who have not been paid are interns and community service doctors.

The problem is that communication came out last week Wednesday that these health care professionals will not be receiving their salaries.

They received the message day before they were supposed to get paid that they will not be receiving their salaries.

The problem is that these are guys who are coming out from school. They don't have money and they have taken loans and have never earned a salary some of them.
