A sad day for Tintswalo Atlantic as fire ravages its premises yet again

A second fire has caused major damage at Tintswalo Atlantic lodge which overlooks Hout Bay on Tuesday.

CEO of Tintswalo Lodges Lisa Goosen says although no injuries were reported, Tuesday was the saddest day for the lodge.

She says they have lost the majority of the main lodge area, the kitchen, the dining area and the rooms connected to the lodge.

It is still not clear as to what caused the fire, says Goosen, but a forensic investigation is being initiated to establish that.

We are pretty set up for fire coming from external as it did last time. Our warning system did warn us but we did not have enough time, so for us, it is important to find out exactly what it was so that it doesn't happen ever again because it is devastating.

Lisa Goosen, CEO - Tintswalo Lodges

Goosen says once again they will start rebuilding working in collaboration with their staff to ensure that the place is up and running soon.
