Sundays in Cape Town are about to get a lot more entertaining with the start of the 10th annual Backsberg Picnic Concerts presented by CapeTalk.
Indie rock band Shortstraw is the first act to take the stage at the picturesque Backsberg Wine Farm.
Bass guitarist Russell Grant says the band is looking forward to performing at the outdoor venue for the first time.
He describes the sound of the cheeky five-piece band and hints at what concert-goers can expect from the event.

Capetonians can enjoy an idyllic summer afternoon while sipping on a glass of wine and listening to great music.
The decade-old concert series will see A-list South African musicians including Shortstraw, Bottomless Coffee, Zolani from Freshly Ground, Beatenberg and Opposite the Other.
The family-friendly concerts will take place outdoors on the lawn where guests can enjoy watching these top acts in an intimate setting.
Backsberg is offering delectable pre-ordered picnic baskets, purchasable via Quicket, as well as a food court offering for guests who’d prefer to purchase food at the venue.
Shortstraw will perform this coming Sunday on 10 February. The show event starts at 3pm at Backsberg Wine Farm.
Early arrival is advised.
Adults over 18 will receive a complimentary glass of Backsberg wine included in their ticket price. Wine and drinks will also be on sale.
No alcohol from outside may be brought onto the premises.
