Panel to assist Minister of Finance with new Sars commissioner hire

Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni has appointed a panel to interview a shortlist of candidates for the vacant post of commissioner of the South African Revenue Service (Sars).

This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa fired Tom Moyane following a recommendation from the Nugent Commission.

Xolani Gwala spoke to labour law expert Natasha Moni to find out what the process the panel will be following.

From the Nugent commission recommendations, they have asked that a panel be appointed.
