Sans Souci suspends both teacher and schoolgirl over slap incident

The Sans Souci school governing body (SGB) has suspended the teacher and pupil at the centre of a violent altercation caught on camera.

The teacher and learner have been suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.

A widely shared video shows the teacher reprimanding the 16-year old before smacking her in the face in front of the classroom on Tuesday.

All staff and educators have also been offered counselling following the incident.
