Taxify driver accused of stabbing passengers: W Cape govt to look into the case

On Wednesday caller Lance described on CapeTalk Breakfast how his daughter and her friend had been out for the evening, caught the ride-hailing service Taxify home in the Okavango area in the northern suburbs of Cape Town on Wednesday at 3am.

After an altercation with the driver, he allegedly stabbed both the young women who ended up in hospital.

Kieno Kammies followed up with Mayco member for safety and security JP Smith who said based on the incident and Taxify's lack of response to the matter, he will be engaging with MEC for Transport Donald Grant to look into a revocation of their operating permit.
