"Chair I am confused" Vytjie Mentor tells state capture commission

Former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor is back on the stand at the Zondo Commission of inquiry into state capture for cross-examination.

The commission revealed on Monday that its own investigation contradicts almost every testimony that Mentor brought before it.

EWN reporter Clement Manyathela says the cross-examination ended with Mentor saying to Justice Raymond Zondo "Chair I'm confused".

The Commission asked Mentor to present evidence to prove that indeed she was in the meeting with the Gupta family as testified.

There is still no documentary evidence proving that she indeed travel on that Monday because SAA is saying there is no record of her traveling on that day even the Parliament where she worked doesn't have records of her traveling on that day.

Manyathela says Deputy Justice Raymond Zondo on Monday clarified to the commission that Duduzane Zuma and Fana Hlongwane won't be cross-examining Mentor anymore because Zuma never submitted an application to cross-examine and Mentor already withdrew allegations against Hlongwane.

Fana Hlongwane said he has no reason to come to the commission to cross-examine Mentor because she has already apologised for implicating him in her testimony last year.

There are only two people left who will be cross-examining Mentor and that is Laleka Kaunda, former advisor of Jacob Zuma and The Hawks official who was implicated by Mentor.
