McBride to implicate thirty high profile individuals in his testimony
Cope spokesperson and former ANC MP Dennis Bloem appeared again before the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.
Bloem corroborated the parts of Vytjie Mentor's testimony. He says she told him she was offered a Cabinet position by one of the Gupta brothers.
He also corroborated her testimony relating to an alleged meeting she had with the Gupta family at their Saxonwold home in 2010.
EWN reporter Clement Manyathela says this is the first time that the commission has heard from someone corroborating Mentor's testimony.
Over the two days, the commission dealt extensively with their own investigation which revealed to be contradicting what Vytjie Mentor has told the commission.Clement Manyathela, Reporter - EWN
Manyathela says an architect from the Department of Public Works also contradicted Mentor's testimony describing what the Gupta's house looked like, saying some of the features Mentor described were not there when the architect inspected the Saxonwold home.
On the other hand, Ipid boss Robert McBride's testimony was postponed because his testimony was only finalised last night.
The rules of the commission require that if you are going to implicate someone you have to inform them before you take the stand.Clement Manyathela, Reporter - EWN
But because McBride's statement was only finalised last night they were not able to notify all the people that McBride is implicating in his testimony.Clement Manyathela, Reporter - EWN
We understand that he is implicating about 30 high profile individuals in his testimony.Clement Manyathela, Reporter - EWN
