The family of Kwaito star Babes Wodumu held a press briefing this morning where the family expressed their gratitude to the South Africans, law enforcement and medical staff for their support.
This follows a video of the Kwaito star, making the rounds on social media showing her allegedly being assaulted by her long-term boyfriend, Mandla Maphumulo, popularly known as Mampintsha.

According to Wodumo's father, Reverend Welcome Simelane, a charge has been laid at the Westville police station.
The father addressed the media today accompanied by Babes' mother. They thanked South Africans through this difficult time and to also give an update about their daughter. He said that Babes is not doing well and that she is going through a difficult time.

They also touch on the fact that Babes will be honouring her appointments as she should and she will be answering the calls when its made, but for now, she is going through a difficult time.

Reverend Simelane added that since the matter has been handed over to the police, it is critical to let the authorities do their work, reports Modise.
