Is Jacob Zuma's Sunday tweet a veiled threat to anyone spilling the beans?

A report released by the Presidency on Saturday implicates the Zuma government in using the State Security Agency (SSA) to fight factional ANC battles.

The Presidency on Saturday released a redacted report from a panel appointed by president Cyril Ramaphosa in June last year and headed by Sydney Mufamadi, to look into the SSA.

The findings reveal that former president Jacob Zuma used the country’s intelligence services for his own political and personal interests, most notably against his successor

While the report does not name Jacob Zuma, Siyabonga Cwele, David Mahlobo or Thulani Dlomo it mentions the various positions and timelines they occupied as security ministers and special head of operations.

The report notes 'political malpurposing and factionalisation' and 'serious breaches of the Constitution, policy law, regulations and directives' by Zuma.

On Sunday Zuma took to Twitter to refute these claims.

I have never been asked any questions by this committee. This committee has 2 well known Apartheid spies. I’ve never sold out nor written letters to the SB. I feel nothing when Apartheid spies call me corrupt. I hope people are not opening a can of worms which they might regret

Jacob Zuma, Former president - South Africa

The response has indicated some support for Zuma while many have expressed strong criticism.

Msholozi spill the beans. You have taken a lot of rubbish for far too too long. You must fight back, you know our history of winning great battles.

Solwayo Ngwenya - Twitter

A barking dog with no teeth. You have been threatening people for too long. We are yet to see the results of your threats.

Khutso Rapudi - Twitter

Do not resort to the old trick of spies. You now see the damage you caused and your heart is murmuring and erratic with fear. Bring it on, yiza nazo.

JayJay - Twitter

Aaaah, Twitter might be the heart of darkness , but stay on it long enough and it reveals all. Imagine operating in government with Zuma, and with these two defining attributes of his: vague inference and the threat of blackmail. Totally sinister man.
