He was arrested after Gill Packham’s body was found in the boot of her burnt-out car at Diep River train station in February last year.

He's denying all the allegations made against him.

Bernice Moore, a colleague of the deceased, and the youngest Packham daughter, Nicola, were the first two State witnesses called to the stand, reports EWN's Shamiela Fisher.

Nicola revealed to the court that her parents were seeing a marriage counsellor because of her father's infidelity.

She told the court that her parents were having marriage troubles because of her father's extramarital affair.

The 26-year-old says she moved out of the house and relocated to Johannesburg 10 days before her mother's missing body was found dead.

Meanwhile, Moore worked with Gill at the Springfield Convent School where they were both employed as secretaries.

She recounted the day that Gill Packham went missing and how Mr Packham had exhibited some strange behaviour.
