NPA drops charges against one suspect in the Thoriso Themane case

The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) says charges against a man in the murder of Thoriso Themane have been dropped due to insufficient evidence.

Two of the three adults aged between 36 and 37, appeared in the Polokwane Magistrates Court earlier on Monday and were granted R 1 000 bail each.

The 28-year-old's death last month sparked outrage after a video showing a group of high school pupils assaulting him in Flora Park in Polokwane went viral.

NPA Limpopo Spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi shares the details.

The video implicates the children, not the adults.

The suspect was not connected to the offence although he was on the scene on the day in question.
