'Let's fight for SMMEs by giving them platforms, let's give them opportunities'

The Proudly South African Campaign is hosting its annual Proudly SA Buy Local Summit & Expo at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Proudly SA CEO, Eustace Mashimbye says the summit is aimed at ensuring the private and public sector buy products that are produced and manufactured in South Africa.

The event is attended by big brands in the country to showcase the kind of work they are doing to support small businesses.

We sign up companies that make their products locally, that are of high quality in nature and we open up the market for them.

Eustace Mashimbye, CEO - Proudly SA

What we are saying is that let's fight for SMMEs by giving them platforms, let's give them opportunities. We have a database that we send out to the private sector.

This is about breaking those doors that SMMEs battle to break down, keeping in mind that there is a high level of unemployment and we believe something needs to be done.

Mashimbye encourages South Africans to attend the two-day summit to support small businesses that are locally based.
