Ramaphosa calls for Zim sanctions to be lifted, remains mum on bailout

President Cyril Ramaphosa has reiterated calls for sanctions to be lifted against Zimbabwe.

Ramaphosa met with his Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa on Tuesday for the Bi National Commission to strenthen co-operation between the two countries.

Ramaphosa said Zimbabwe needs all the international support it can get, and reiterated South Africa’s commitment to getting Western sanctions lifted against Harare.

While Ramaphosa said Zimbabwe deserved the support of the international community, he made no mention of any financial bailout plans from SA, reports EWN correspondent Jean Jacque Cornish.

I'm sure the explanation was made by Ramaphosa to his counterpart, but there's been no word of it from the communique today.
