Mixed reaction to the findings of Marikana Commission of Inquiry

Three months after receiving the Farlam Commission’s report, President Jacob Zuma has now finally made its findings public. The Commission of Inquiry was set up to investigate the deaths of 44 people during violence on the platinum belt in 2012.

While response has been mixed, it is the next steps which should draw most public attention... the Commission recommended all killings before 16 August should be referred to the Department of Public Prosecutions to determine prosecution of police officers or not.
