Journalist and political analyst shares the latest developments Martin Lejeune following the deadly attack.

The death toll in two Christchurch mosques in New Zealand has left more than 49 people dead.

Gunmen, one of which has been identified as an Australian extremist - apparently live streaming the assault, stormed the mosques on Friday morning.

The suspect has been charged with murder, while three others have been arrested. However, police say one person has since been released after it was established that he had nothing to do with the mass murder.

Facebook said videos which appeared to show the Christchurch shootings have been taken down. YouTube has also removed a video of the shooting.

Journalist and political analyst Martin Lejeune says the motive for the killings has been revealed in a 75-page manifesto published on Twitter by one of the terrorists.

As far as I know the motive was Islamophobia and xenophobia. He published, yesterday, through his Twitter account, a manifesto called The Great Replacement. He writes about white supremacy, migrants, especially Muslims. It is full of hate.

Lejeune describes the video as the worst thing he has seen his life.

It is 17 minutes long. It starts in the car of the perpetrator, urging people to follow him on Facebook then he gets his automatic gun, walks toward the entrance of the mosque then shoots toward several people, hundreds of times.
