Head of elections in the ANC Fikile Mbalula says it is understandable that South Africans are angry at the ruling party because of what is happening at Eskom.
Eskom has implemented load shedding since Friday, attributing it to the powerful cyclone that hit Mozambique.
Mbalula says the ANC is up to the challenge of fixing things permanently.
We have said that the past ten years has been characterised by the good and the bad and the bad in that story is the mismanagement of Eskom so we absolutely need to bring a stop to this.— Fikile Mbalula, Head of Elections - ANC
At this stage, I wouldn't say to South Africans 'do not be angry'. I am personally affected by this load shedding and the president is hard at work, task after task but we are fixing things for good.— Fikile Mbalula, Head of Elections - ANC
When asked whether South Africans should still vote for the ANC when the party is failing to give the people a basic need such as electricity, Mbalula insists the ANC has learned from its mistakes.
Now we know what is afflicting us and what needs to be done. We've got experience and we've got a plan to turn things around and it is not yesterday but today.— Fikile Mbalula, Head of Elections - ANC
In the next couple of weeks, the issue of load shedding would've been resolved permanently.— Fikile Mbalula, Head of Elections - ANC
Mbalula says the ANC deployees, as well as the president, are doing everything in their power to stop the load shedding
The president, leading from the front, is doing everything to stop this - there will not be a quick fix solution to this.— Fikile Mbalula, Head of Elections - ANC
