Gupta's naturalisation was fraudulent, finds Parly committee
Parliament’s Home Affairs committee has found that the naturalisation process for members of the Gupta family was fraudulent and should be reviewed.
The committee has completed its inquiry, which started in September last year.
Some Parliamentarians have recommended criminal charges be pursued against the Guptas, reports EWN's Babalo Ndenze.
Meanwhile, no legal recommendations have been made against former Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba.
The findings are calling for, among other things, a review of legislation that deals with naturalisation as well as the powers of the minister.Babalo Ndenze, Parliamentary correspondent - EWN
They call for criminal charges against Gupta associate Ashu Chawla, who is believed to have led the whole process, and the Gupta brothers.Babalo Ndenze, Parliamentary correspondent - EWN
They also want to submit these findings to the Zondo Commission on Inquiry into State Capture.Babalo Ndenze, Parliamentary correspondent - EWN
