It is now 50 days left for the 2019 general elections. It will be the sixth election held since the end of the apartheid system in 1994.
Political analyst Melanie Verwoerd, a former ANC MP and SA ambassador to Ireland, speaks to CapeTalks Kieno Kammies about the build-up to the elections the controversial ANC party list.
She says the top 25% of every list (regional, provincial and national) stays the same and the party juggles the rest to reflect gender and youth.

It also says no history of involvement in fostering division or conflict yet there is Supra Mahumapelo right in the top 100.Melanie Verwoerd, Former ANC MP and SA ambassador to Ireland
