Capetonians water consumption down by about 536 million litres of water a day

Mayco member for water and waste, Xanthea Limberg talks to Kieno Kammies about Cape Town's water security issues as we mark World Water Day.

Dam levels are currently at around 52%. Levels only dropped by 0.1%.

Because of the rain we received about a week ago, we seeing dam levels remaining quite stable and a slow decline.

Consumption has also declined by about 536 million litres of water a day which is well within the City's 650 million litres a day usage target.

It indicates Capetonians have remained conservative in their approach to water.
