Lesufi had considered suspending the licence of the Curro school after a video surfaced allegedly depicting the racial segregation of pupils on a school field trip – the most recent incident accusing the school of racism.

When I saw the video, I wanted to act decisively. I'd wanted to revoke the licence of the school, which would have led to the closure of the school, but the management of the school requested a review of this. They presented something reasonable: they would recall the principal and the regional manager and other commitments. On that basis, I felt that we should give them an opportunity, so the school will continue to operate, and the young ones won't inconvenienced.
