Police can't yet confirm if body found is that of baby Orderick Lucas

A case of murder has been opened after a baby's body was discovered in Eerste River.

The police cannot confirm yet whether it is that of one-year-old Orderick Lucas who was reported missing last week in Kuils River.

Eyewitness News reporter Lauren Isaacs says the police are waiting for postmortem result to confirm the identity of the body.

The body that was found yesterday, that child was wearing the exact same clothes as described on the Pink Ladies missing person's flyer.

On Sunday we received an email from the police saying that two people believed to be the mom and grandmother were arrested.

The case was then struck off the roll and the charges were provisionally withdrawn due to outstanding information.

The mother's answer when she was interviewed initially, she did not know who she had given the child to. She did not know where her child was.

Several people have been arrested in connection with the little boy's disappearance.
