Eric Atmore completes groundbreaking PhD at 62

Eric Atmore will be ascending the stage on Friday to receive his PhD completed at the age of 62 from Stellenbosch University.

Atmore is the director of the Centre for Early Childhood Development and his thesis focused on an in-depth analysis of the South African Early Childhood Development policy.

People may see this as inspiration but I see it as four years of toil, troubles and hard work.

Eric Atmore, Director - Centre for Early Childhood Development

My thesis looked at Early Childhood Policy Trajectory from 1990 - 2015, a period of transition, democratic participation and social and economic change in the country. I traced every single childhood policy from that time.
