McBride testimony postponed yet again at Zondo Commission

The Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture has once again postponed former Ipid boss Robert McBride's testimony and is now scheduled for Thursday.

This is due to the commission's legal team's delay in issuing notices to the implicated parties.

McBride was scheduled to testify into allegations of state capture within law enforcement agencies.

EWN reporter Barry Bateman says deputy chief justice Raymond Zondo expressed dissatisfaction with the commission's failure after McBride's testimony was postponed six weeks ago to allow this exact process to take place.

Head of the commission's legal team Advocate Paul Pretorius conceded that they had failed to do what they were supposed to do and that they will be sending out notices as of today.

He indicated logistical difficulties, not with just Robert McBride but former Kwa-Zulu Natal Hawks head Johan Booysen. He says between these two witnesses they've got about a hundred implicated parties that they have to prepare these official notices for.

According to Bateman, McBride's testimony is expected to take two days.

Implicated parties will be given two weeks notice to either testify or cross-examine McBride.
