Financed your vehicle with VW after 2007? You need to read this!

Volkswagen South Africa has been told to pay back illegal fees it has been charging its customers.

It affects customers who bought their vehicles through Volkswagen Financial Services after 2007 and were charged an on-the-road fee.

Joanne Joseph spoke to a senior legal advisor at the NCR Nthupang Magolego on what this implies.

During our investigation, VW Financial Services could not even tell us what this fee was for.

This fee is not permitted according to the law.

Magolego says the fee varied from consumer to consumer.

It is not about consumers who are driving VW cars. It is about cars that were financed by VW financial services.

Magolego says, however, the decision of the tribunal has been suspended because VW will be challenging the decision.
