Coconut Kelz ready to dye her hair blue for election week

Lesego Thlabi, aka Coconut Kelz, is quite clear about where her loyalties lie in South Africa's political landscape.

She reveals all to Phemelo Motene on Weekend Breakfast on her return to Johannesburg after a St Francis breakaway to escape the Sandton shutdown by Alex protesters.

I only call Helen president because that's my president.

She's only going to stop when she dies.

As we know, appearance is very important to Coconut Kelz and that's why she's ready to dye her hair blue for election week to reflect her allegiance.

My hair's going to be blue the week of elections, otherwise it's blonde for now... I have lots of photo shoots for the posters, for the DA posters.

Coconut Kelz was also vocal about the reason for the protests in Alexandra and why Joburg mayor Herman Mashaba has seemingly put off acceding to residents' demands that he address them.

The ANC is the one who actually planned this thing. They wanted to make Herman look like a bad mayor.

Of course Herman is scared of Alex. I mean it's a township and the last time Herman was in a township was in the 80s. You have to understand he's been rich for a long time.

Coconut Kelz also weighs in on the ANC's new political school and the launch of Pieter-Louis Myburgh's book 'Gangster State'.
