There are many products that can test positive on a breathalyser. Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnar says immediately after eating the hot cross bun the breathalyser will give a reading that would turn out to be wrong minutes later.
After the nice taste of the bun which contains all the nice ingredients, the yeast, raisins and dough, putting that together in a little bit of higher temperature will cause fermentation and that creates alcohol.— Wayne Minnar, Spokesperson, JMPD
If you test immediately after eating we will get a reading but after 20 minutes the reading will be zero.— Wayne Minnar, Spokesperson, JMPD
