Mop-up operations are underway in KwaZulu-Natal.

The province has been ravaged by heavy rains and floods that claimed 51 people.

The most affected areas are Chatsworth, Clare Estate and Mariannhill.

Speaking to John Maytham, spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal rescue care Garrit Jamieson says most people died from flooding and crush injuries.

There is a big damage. Multiple roads and bridges have collapsed.
