'We have mastered the mistakes that we have made as the ANC'

2 May 2019 10:17 AM
Western Cape provincial secretary Faiez Jacobs speaks about the party's position ahead of the 2019 general elections.

In less than a week's time, South Africans will be heading to the polls to vote for a party they would like to govern the country for the next five years.

The ANC, which has been in power for the past 25 years, has been marred by allegations of corruption and looting of state resources.

ANC Western Cape provincial secretary Faiez Jacobs speaks to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies about why South African should vote for the party despite the allegations.

We have mastered the mistakes that we have made as the ANC collectively. We are on record saying that these were not our best years...

Faiez Jacobs, Western Cape provincial secretary - ANC

Jacobs says it is time for the public to move beyond the party's past mistakes and focus on the elections.

He outlines some priorities the ANC promises it will focus on to better the lives of South Africans.

We as the ANC are offering the bringing together of the people. There is a great plan under Cyril Ramaphosa to create opportunities, jobs and deal with the socio-economic challenges facing the poor but that doesn't mean we won't take the middle class on board.
