IEC vice-chairperson Janet Love clarifies some of the processes voters need to be aware of before Wednesday.

In less than 24 hours South Africans will be voting for a party that will be in power for the next five years.

CapeTalk's/702's Clement Manyathela speaks to Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) vice-chairperson Janet Love about some crucial things voters need to know ahead of the big day.

Love says she hopes that mistakes and concerns picked up during the special votes will be rectified before the voting starts on Wednesday.

Here are some of the important things to note:

  • Bring along valid identity documents (Smart ID, Green barcoded ID or temporary ID).
  • Check for a stamp at the back of the ballot paper.
  • Ensure that the ballot papers are put into the right ballot box.

We appeal to people that should they notice anything that is not correct, they need to approach the presiding officer at the voting station.

Janet Love, Vice-chairperson - IEC

It is vital for us to have every concern lodged at the voting stations so that we can attend to it as soon as possible.
