We are definitely going to get more that one seat in Parliament - ATM

African Transformation Movement (ATM) president Vuyo Zungula says a lot of people believed the party would not get a single seat in Parliament, however, if one looks at the results of the election currently, the party has surprised its critics.

Zungula speaks to 702's Bongani Bingwa broadcasting live at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) results centre.

Many people didn't expect one seat from us, it is still early days, the results are coming, and we remain positive.

Vuyo Zungula, President - ATM

We are going to get one seat, less than 20% of the votes counted, it is still early days, but we are definitely going to get more that one seat in Parliament.

Vuyo Zungula, President - ATM

Zungula says no evidence suggests that former president Jacob Zuma played a role in the formation of the party.

The ATM has had to deal with a lot of bad media publicity based on lies and speculation which entrenched in peoples minds that we are a Zuma party, maybe that is why there are people that might have rejected us based on unfounded allegations.

Vuyo Zungula, President - ATM

He says the party will identify what people want and push that mandate when it gets to Parliament.
