IEC ought to take voting concerns seriously - Archbishop Makgoba
With polling having closed on Wednesday night, chair of the Electoral Code of Conduct Observer Commission, Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, gives an update on how election day unfolded.
He says some of the concerns that were raised during voting, ECCOC tried its best to resolve and others were referred to the IEC.
With the voting having happened and the results now coming out, I pray that the results will be accepted so that we can carry on with the business of making South Africa work.Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, Chairperson - Electoral Code of Conduct Observer Commission
Makgoba applauded some of the councillors who tested the voting system and realised some flaws.
He says he is happy that there are people who are taking this seriously and want to see a seamless process.
IEC ought to take these concerns seriously and give us a good answer not to sweep these things under the carpet because it will compromise the democratic enterprise that we would like to see happen.Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, Chairperson - Electoral Code of Conduct Observer Commission
