Will Tito Mboweni return to Parliament as finance minister, asks Mantshantsha
Now that elections are over, what kind of government are we getting, asks Financial Mail deputy editor Sikonathi Mantshantsha?
He explains that President Cyril Ramaphosa still has a big task at hand to deal with the individuals that are on the ANC's parliamentary list like Bathabile Dlamini and Malusi Gigaba.
These are people who have delivered the country to its knees and they are waiting in line to be ministers.Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy editor - Financial Mail
Another question and a big economic factor is whether Tito Mboweni will be going back to Parliament.
Mantshantsha says Mboweni has already mentioned that he is available for the position but also indicated that he doesn't care about the job because he is busy with other things.
Will he go back to Parliament? Because there is also Gauteng finance MEC Barbara Creecy who is being sent to the National Assembly. Will she take over or will she become deputy finance minister? Because I do not see Mondli Gungubele staying that long.Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy editor - Financial Mail
By the way, she [Barbara Creecy] would be the first female finance minister in this country.Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy editor - Financial Mail
