Mixed fortunes for parties as IEC releases results

The Independent Electoral Commission has announced the 2019 election results. The African National Congress (ANC) will have 230 seats in the National Assembly.

The ANC has retained eight provinces while the Economic Freedom Fighters became the official opposition in three.

The Democratic Alliance has retained the Western Cape with the ANC being the official opposition.
