MPs to be sworn in next week as chief justice receives candidate lists
Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has received the candidate lists for Members of Parliament from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) at the Constitutional Court.
The IEC has suggested 830 candidates for the National Assembly and provincial legislatures for the next five years.
The sixth Parliament will officially be sworn in next week.

On the 22nd of May, the National Assembly will have its first sitting and traditionally that is essentially when each of the members is sworn in and that is when they elect the chair, which has been Baleka Mbethe for a while.
