'It is clear that electorate is giving us serious consideration' - EFF
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) on Thursday held its first media briefing post-election to discuss its gains and the way forward.
The party has seen significant growth. National support grew from 6% to more than 10% of the vote and it's become the official opposition in three provinces - Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West
To discuss Thursday's presser, 702 Bongani Bingwa speaks to EFF national chairperson, advocate Dali Mpofu.
If you look at the performance in its actual perspective, it is nothing short of a miracle because everything was against us. We were competing against two giant parties that had a massive voter base, a media that was intoxicated with Ramaphoria and yet to get these gains in every province shows the support we have.Advocate Dali Mpofu, National chairperson - EFF
It is clear from the electorate that they are giving serious consideration and are happy with what we have done in the first five years we were in parliament.Advocate Dali Mpofu, National chairperson - EFF
The Freedom Front Plus also made significant gains and Mpofu says these results clearly show voter trends.
For the first time a black voice is being heard, and real issues like land are raised, but if the reaction to that is that some people revert to apartheid, then it is a reflection of what is happening. If people return to racist attitudes because of the simple call for equality, then it is good that we know.Advocate Dali Mpofu, National chairperson - EFF
If we are deceiving ourselves thinking we are a Rainbow Nation when in reality, that is not the case, it is a good thing that we are now able to reflect the realities of our society.Advocate Dali Mpofu, National chairperson - EFF
