Game of Thrones - A fan preview of the final episode

You may have managed to avoid the hype around the HBO series Game of Thrones for the first seven years, but odds are even if you are not interested in dragons and royalty at all, you were not able to miss the buzz around television's most expensive creation.

The final episode airs globally on Monday 20 May 2019 and fans are both super excited and sad that it all comes down to the final episode to see who will sit on the Iron Throne.

Mad Queen

The last episode called The Bells saw heroes fall along with some of the villains. For many, it was the new villain that created the most discussion.

The writers.

Dan Weiss and David Benioff had the leading female character fulfil a destiny many hoped she would not. A petition that originally called for half a million to tell the writers to do it again has more than 700 000 signatures and is now heading for the million mark.

In one respect that suggests the writers managed to create exactly the impact they were hoping for.

The season 8 premiere set a new record audience for the show with more than 17 million viewers while the most recent episode exceeded 18 million.

Who will rule the 7 Kingdoms?
