Whether you are getting up early or just curious to know how it all ends, this is the perfect preview

You may have managed to avoid the hype around the HBO series Game of Thrones for the first seven years, but odds are even if you are not interested in dragons and royalty at all, you were not able to miss the buzz around television's most expensive creation.

The final episode airs globally on Monday 20 May 2019 and fans are both super excited and sad that it all comes down to the final episode to see who will sit on the Iron Throne.

Mad Queen

The last episode called The Bells saw heroes fall along with some of the villains. For many, it was the new villain that created the most discussion.

The writers.

Dan Weiss and David Benioff had the leading female character fulfil a destiny many hoped she would not. A petition that originally called for half a million to tell the writers to do it again has more than 700 000 signatures and is now heading for the million mark.

In one respect that suggests the writers managed to create exactly the impact they were hoping for.

The season 8 premiere set a new record audience for the show with more than 17 million viewers while the most recent episode exceeded 18 million.

Who will rule the 7 Kingdoms?

In the audio below you will not only hear six views on the series, but you will also hear six compelling explanations for who will finally be crowned the ruler of the seven kingdoms.

Pippa Hudson, afternoon presenter, long-time fan and one that has also read the books, is joined by five other super fans. Dress-ups, watch parties and a minimum of two or three viewings of each episode ensure you will have the best insights into the past and as yet undetermined future for the series.

From House Wyrd are Fazielah Willaims, Tendai Sibindi and Leonie Mollentze.

From Primedia is Breakfast Show producer Nicola Bruns and the person that got her hooked, Elri Steenkamp.

Once you have finished listening, let us know who you think will take the throne by selecting your choice on the poll below being run by Kfm 94.5
