ANC national executive committee finalising top jobs list for Parliament

The African National Congress' (ANC's) top decision-makers are in Cape Town to finalise the names of those party members who will be headed to Parliament as Cabinet members.

It's being widely suggested that Former National Council of Provinces (NCOP) chairperson Thandi Modise will be named by the national executive committee as the speaker of the National Assembly, taking over from Baleka Mbete.

EWN reporter Babalo Ndenze joined Africa Melane on Monday for the latest on the MPs list.

She will obviously leave the NCOP to join the National Assembly. She is quite familiar with presiding over Parliament and joint sittings at NCOP.

Everyone seems to be in agreement that she will make a great speaker.
