Mokonyane is a seasoned cadre of the ANC with incredible experience - Pule Mabe
The African National Congress’ national executive committee (NEC) has concluded the appointment of its leaders in Parliament.
The selection of a new National Assembly Speaker, National Council of Provinces (NCOP) chairperson and party chief whip was made at a special NEC meeting on Monday.
The appointments are as follows
THE ANC WHIPPERY
Chief whip: Pemmy Majodina
Deputy chief whip: Doris Dlakude
Chief whip of NCOP: Seiso Mohai
PRESIDING OFFICERS: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
Speaker: Thandi Modise
Deputy Speaker: Lechesa Tsenoli
Chair of Chairs: Nomvula Mokonyane
PRESIDING OFFICERS: NCOP

Questions have been asked about the appointment of controversial former minister, Nomvula Mokonyane, who will not be heading back to cabinet.
Earlier this year, former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi implicated Mokonyane in the state capture inquiry.
ANC national spokesperson Pule Mabe says Mokonyane has not been charged and that she is qualified for the job.
From where we are sitting, she is not charged. She is a seasoned cadre of the African National Congress with incredible experience.Pule Mabe, Spokesperson - ANC
She has come out herself and said if there was a need for her to respond to whatever issues, she is always available. Now comrade Nomvula, one of the things you will find encouraging with her is that she is not a person who is scared to stand up and speak. She is always willing to give her version.Pule Mabe, Spokesperson - ANC
I can tell you, when the ANC made this decision it had considered all the facts at play. We are a responsible organisation, all the decisions we make are also embedded in helping us construct institutions that are responsive to the desires of our people.Pule Mabe, Spokesperson - ANC
He explains the reasoning behind Amos Masondo's appointment.
The ANC believes in the notion of an inter-generational mix. Comrade Masondo, will be one individual that plays a greater role toward making sure that those of our new MPs that are being deployed in the NCOP are made to understand the discipline that comes with that kind of position.Pule Mabe, Spokesperson - ANC
