Eusebius McKaiser engages former student activists from the ANC, DA and EFF about what changes they want to see happening.

Youth under the age of 30 from the top three political parties are poised to dominate parliamentary discourse over the next five years.

Members of the six democratic Parliament were sworn in on Wednesday.

Student activists who marched together during fees must fall in 2015/2016 will now be debating in Parliament. These include former Wits student representative council president Nompendulo Mkhatshwa (representing the African National Congress), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Student Command leader Vuyani Pambo and well as activists Naledi Chirwa and Peter Keetse.

Eusebius McKaiser engages the young MPs about their expectations and what they will bring to Parliament.

Keetse (26) says he will be focusing on education and a long term solution to the education system.

Young people are still excluded systematically. The sooner we deal with it, the better. Young people do not have money to go to school. We have put a price tag on education.

Peter Keetse, Member of Parliament - EFF

At the age of 23, Sibongiseni Ngcobo has been sworn in as a Member of Parliament for the Democratic Alliance. He says the party is trying to bring all race groups in South Africa together.

I don't think it's true that the Democratic Alliance doesn't speak for people who are not in poverty and for a black child. I think the DA represents everyone. We have a stance on policies like BEE and land reform programme. We are against people using things like land reform for political gain.

Sibongiseni Ngcobo, Member of Parliament, DA

Having risen to power during the fees must fall campaign in 2015, Mkhatshwa (26) representing the African National Congress, says she looks forward to serving in any committee.

The one thing that comforts me is what President-elect Cyril Ramaphosa in the ANC caucus. He said we need to have an activist-orientated parliament. As a young person that for me gave me comfort.

Nompendulo Mkhatshwa, Member of Parliament, ANC
