The ANC in the Western Cape says it welcomes the high court ruling dismissing the application of suspended provincial spokesperson Lionel Adendorf to declare a recent meeting as invalid and illegitimate.
On Wednesday Adendorf filed an urgent declaratory order with the Western Cape High Court to declare a recent meeting, in which he was suspended, as invalid and illegitimate.
He's adamant that he wants his position back and is citing some factional battles within the ANC Western Cape which is, of course, an age-old problem.— Jason Felix, Reporter - EWN
Recently the ANC's provincial secretary, Faiez Jacobs, gave a brutal assessment of the party's poor performance in the elections, laying the blame squarely on the internal divisions and ongoing factionalism.
It appears that when the provincial executive committee meets, some decisions are taken along faction lines, and it appears, well I can definitely say, Lionel Adendorf is a victim of these factional battles.— Jason Felix, Reporter - EWN
