Yet another case of brutality against Sea Point police

Earlier this week CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies spoke to a Sea Point resident who claimed a group of people dressed in South African Police Service uniform attacked and robbed him.

Another resident who was on her way to a job interview over the weekend says she was wrongfully arrested by Sea Point police.

Esethu Mcinjana says she was approached by a policewoman while sitting on a park bench because she was a bit early for an interview.

The policewoman accused her of being a car thief after she searched her and found a gate remote control which she said was a car lock jamming device.

The interview was at a hotel situated near the promenade.

While going through my bag she called for a van to come and arrest me.

She put handcuffs on me and were very tight. I didn't even get a chance to call my family to tell them where I was.

Mcinjana was locked up overnight at the Sea Point police station.

She is reporting the matter to the police human resource department because she believes what happened to her was an abuse of power.
