David Mabuza finally sworn in as MP

ANC deputy president David Mabuza has been sworn in as an MP at the presidential guesthouse.

Last week Mabuza postponed his swearing-in, saying he wanted to first clear his name after the party’s integrity commission recommended that he and other ANC members be removed from the party’s candidate list to Parliament over various offences.

Joanne Joseph spoke to political analyst Lukhona Mnguni about the latest developments.

The position of deputy president doesn't have power. You assist the president in executing his executive authority but you get assigned powers. Mabuza as deputy president is in a place of limited power.
